Development boom revitalises Urban Design Awards

12 August 2015

The Gold Coast Urban Design Awards are expected to be fiercely contested this year as the city enjoys a resurgence in building and development.

Entries are now open for the 2015 awards and Mayor Tom Tate said he is excited about the city’s talented design professionals and developers whose creations are emerging all over the city.

“There is a rich pool of excellence, innovation and sustainability to draw from and I encourage the city’s development industry to enter their projects in the awards,” Cr Tate said.

“And it is not just about large scale commercial developments, we recognise and celebrate developments of all sizes that enhance the urban fabric of our city.”

The Gold Coast Urban Design Awards were established in 1998 to recognise design, liveability and sustainability in the city’s built environment.

The awards will be judged by an eminent selection panel from the fields of architecture, planning, engineering, landscape architecture, and construction experts.

Entries close on 21 August. Winners will be announced 16 October.
